Join to apply for the Business Development Manager Solar role at Uniper. The Renewables Team at Uniper is responsible for the development of the Wind-onshore and Solar PV business in Europe. Our aim is to deliver more than 1 GW growth p.a. by 2025 and a minimum of 10 GW on our balance sheet by 2030. Uniper operates across the renewable energy value chain, with experience in offtake (PPA in particular), storage, hydrogen, and more. The UK is a key market for Uniper in its renewable energies strategy. This is a unique opportunity to join an emerging team with international support and strong growth resources.
Responsibilities
* You will actively support the Company’s objectives by delivering profitable partnerships and acquisition of a portfolio delivering Utility-Scale Solar MW.
* You will originate business relationships and close partnerships with external partners (developers, financial advisors, etc.).
* You will lead investment cases and negotiations with partners toward acquiring projects’ portfolio from Origination to Ready-to-Build status: monitor and interpret technical and regulatory developments and deliver technical and non-technical reports to stakeholders.
* You will prepare presentations and business cases for management to obtain agreement on acquisitions and partnerships.
* You will represent the Company to external partners at events, conferences, and on panels.
* You will participate in developing a winning market strategy to establish a significant long-term solar project pipeline.
Qualifications and Skills
* Capacity to originate opportunities with a good network in the industry (developers, suppliers, technical and legal advisors, financial advisors, etc.).
* Ability to create and maintain a network of partners.
* Up-to-date knowledge of project development steps for utility-scale solar, from land acquisition to Ready-to-Build status, including permitting.
* Experience coordinating due diligence and driving deals to completion with strong commercial attention.
* Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to negotiate and close renewable energy contracts (development services, co-development, share purchase, framework agreements).
* Comfort reviewing and building financial models to assess acquisition opportunities, in collaboration with the central modeling team.
* Project management skills with attention to detail, deadlines, and long-term project oversight, especially in acquisition/due diligence.
* Ability to prioritize work for oneself and the team to achieve business goals.
* Strong organizational skills.
