You will be working in the Building Services OU based in Cambridge in where we are responsible for creating healthy workplaces and efficient facilities that improve people’s lives. Through collaboration and innovation, we deliver high-quality solutions that make a lasting, positive impact for people and communities.
We are currently looking for a Building Services Engineer who will gain hands‑on experience across MEP Building Services to support delivery of healthy, greener, and inclusive buildings. You will work with project teams to ensure design, installation and lifecycle efficiencies of building systems and contribute to bidding, mobilisation, and contract resilience activities.
Responsibilities
* Prepare sub‑contract and equipment packages for tender pricing ensuring compliance with standards and sustainability frameworks such as BREEAM and LEED, and fire regulations.
* Collaborate with engineers and contractors to plan, coordinate and oversee the design, installation and commissioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and renewable energy systems.
* Monitor site progress, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in compliance with environmental and quality standards. Participate and manage health & safety.
* Assist in the development of technical and sustainable design solutions, including production of 3D models, calculations, specifications, reports and drawings using CAD, BIM and Slate software.
* Delivery of works to programme and quality expectations, including effective subcontractor management.
Qualifications
* Completed a technical qualification, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or associated NVQ Level 4 qualification (HNC Level).
* Enthusiastic about learning, personal and professional growth, and a strong interest in sustainability and positive impact.
* Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and forward‑thinking problem solving to prevent issues on projects.
