Job Title: Support Worker

Hours: 7 hours per week (+ annual leave and sickness cover)
Pay: £13.20 per hour
Reporting to: You will be directly accountable to me (employer).
Main Duties
The main aim of this role is to support me as a deaf blind man to be as independent as possible and to achieve my personal outcomes. This post is to act as my Support Worker, to cover 7 hours per week plus contingency hours to cover Annual Leave and Sickness of other staff.
Main duties of the role are:
1. To assist me getting out and about.
2. To assist me to attend appointments.
3. To support me to send letters, make phone calls and answer emails.
4. To assist me to my social activities and support me to maintain my confidence.
5. Carry out any other duties or activities connected with the role which I may reasonably request.
Required Qualities
1. Reliable and trustworthy.
2. Have common sense, an outgoing personality and a sense of humour.
3. To be honest at all times.
4. Have own vehicle with business insurance and a clean driving licence. Expenses are paid at 45p per mile.
5. Computer skills.
6. Able to respect my privacy and confidentiality.
7. Understanding of Mental Health.
8. Excellent communication skills and a good listener.
9. I need someone who is reliable, responsible and punctual.
Desirable
1. Experience of Deaf/blind individuals.
2. Current First Aid Certificate.
3. Health and Social Care Qualification.
