What's involved with this role: Temporary Care Assistant - ASC Reference no: Leicestershire TCL 0008 B469 / 1 Pay Rate: £11.98 per hour PAYE 37 Monday to Friday, TBC This opening assignment is for 2-3 months City: SILEBY Waking nights are £13.72p/h. Enhanced DBS disclosure required Shift hours: 7-3 early/ 2-10 late/ 10-7 waking night. The promotion and maintenance of a high standard of care; to ensure the emotional, physical and social well being of residents in the Home, taking into account the personal rights of each resident. They will be working with Learning Disabilities so there will personal care involved as well. Key Responsibilities Show an understanding of residents needs. Encourage residents to achieve maximum independence (by assisting residents to meet their own needs, whenever possible). Attend to personal hygiene needs, e.g. bathing, hair care, visits to the toilet, including the use and emptying of commodes, dealing with incontinence and emptying catheter bags. Give assistance to all residents as needed, especially help with walking, feeding and dressing. Administer first aid when necessary. Serve meals and drinks; ensure special diets are given to the appropriate resident. Accompany residents for medical treatment, on shopping trips outings and holidays. Assist with lifting residents when necessary (must always be at least two members of staff). Receive and distribute medication to residents under the direction and guidance of the Officer on duty, returning any which is not accepted.
