There is the expectation that will work with classes from anywhere across school.
Woodley School and College is a Kirklees Local Authority special school focused on improving Quality of Life for children and young people with autism aged 5-19. We are looking to appoint, enthusiastic and highly motivated HLTA's to join our committed and friendly team of happy and hardworking staff and children.
You will be someone who will share our vision for high standards in all aspects of school life. Particular emphasis will be on supporting learning and improving students communication, independence and achievement, working alongside the class teacher. The ability to relate with children/young people from diverse backgrounds is essential for this job, as well as having good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with children/young people and other staff members.

Ideally candidates will hold a HLTA specific qualification but if not, strong demonstrable classroom teaching delivery and planning experience must be evidenced in your application and come across at interview stage. We would encourage and be happy to support any successful candidate unqualified to complete the HLTA qualification.
There is a Forest School timetable which focuses on classes of students who have shown an interest in Forest School. You will be expected to provide education planning, resourcing and delivery of learning. Over time you have the freedom and support to develop the provision, in line with the Headteachers vision, to ensure students have a fantastic learning experience developing their life skills.
