Job Title: Category Analyst (m/f/d)
As our Category Analyst (m/f/d), you will work as a seasoned procurement/purchasing professional with key responsibilities including analyzing market outlooks, determining optimal purchase timings, contracting with vendors, and managing supply orders and investments.
This role involves developing and implementing short-term strategies for procurement across all categories.
What you will do
1. Serve as the liaison between the business and vendors.
2. Sourcing and vetting vendors, negotiating contracts, and presenting deals to decision makers.
3. Reviewing and processing requisitions to ensure timely orders, negotiating costs, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
4. Analyzing comparative costs submitted by suppliers during RFP processes.
5. Monitoring and updating purchase order data in procurement software.
6. Establishing pricing and performance standards through contracts.
7. Inspecting and testing samples, documenting features, and making purchasing decisions based on this information.
8. Documenting costs for vendors and generating monthly cost reports for stakeholders.
9. Recommending sourcing strategies and executing tactical and strategic initiatives.
10. Monitoring market trends and maintaining efficient information flow on materials.
11. Designing cost-saving programs and identifying new suppliers.
12. Mentoring less experienced team members with coaching and training.
13. Ensuring on-time delivery by monitoring order fulfillment.
What we are looking for
1. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
2. Relevant certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent.
3. Extensive experience in procurement/purchasing operations.
4. Experience with cost-benefit analysis.
5. Proficiency with procurement modules managing purchase orders, supplier info, and contracts.
6. Experience evaluating vendors based on price, quality, and availability.
7. Strong knowledge of quality standards related to products and services.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
9. Willingness to travel as required.
