Our Water consultancy client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Leeds office on a permanent basis with hybrid working options.

You will join our client's design team in Leeds as part of a multi-disciplinary department providing detailed designs for water-related projects in the UK. The role offers flexible working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and options for adjusted start and finish times.
Our client's water teams possess industry-leading technology expertise and provide skills and innovative solutions across the full lifecycle of water engineering and management. They work with 7 out of the 12 UK water and sewerage companies in AMP7, with significant work underway for AMP8.
Responsibilities
* Working on predominantly non-infrastructure projects
* Act as a Design Engineer, undertake and check design solutions, and coordinate with other disciplines
* Provide technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues; assist in mentoring and development
* Participate in projects from conception to completion, supporting project managers in defining briefs, deliverables, milestones, methodology, and quality assurance
* Manage project start-up meetings; conduct detailed design tasks, including calculations, drawings, sketches, reports, ensuring optimal solutions
* Assess, document, and communicate design changes; ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards
* Attend close-out meetings and suggest improvements to policies, processes, and project management methods
* Engage in business development, tenders, and managing client relationships
Skills, experience, and qualifications
* Ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (e.g., ICE or CIWEM)
* Strong interpersonal and team-working skills; excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Comprehensive knowledge of water and wastewater non-infrastructure design, including process engineering and MEICA integration
* Extensive experience in design, contract and tender preparation, assessment, and administration
* Degree in civil engineering or related field preferred
* Salary up to £60k depending on experience
