Position Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for end-to-end financial management, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with statutory and company regulations. This role includes budgeting, invoice processing, ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position plays a key role in supporting audits, both internal and external. Strong attention to detail, in-depth accounting knowledge, and problem-solving skills are essential to thrive in this position.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
* Maintain and review General Ledger (GL) entries to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including accruals and journal entries
* Perform bank reconciliations and manage intercompany transactions
* Generate and present financial statements and internal MIS reports to management
* Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
* Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and standards
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits
* Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting functions
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
* Commerce Graduate (B.Com or equivalent); higher qualifications
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing company
Technical Skills:
* Strong expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
* Hands-on experience with General Ledger (GL) maintenance
* Experience in monthly closings and financial reporting (MIS)
* Proficiency in reconciliations (bank, intercompany, and accounts)
* Working knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
