Didsbury, South Manchester Position: KS1 Teacher Location: Didsbury, South Manchester Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Salary: MPS / UPS dependent on experience Start Date: Immediate About the School This welcoming primary school in Didsbury is seeking a dynamic and passionate KS1 Teacher to join its friendly and supportive team. The Role As a KS1 Teacher, you will teach pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, creating a stimulating, inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement, curiosity, and resilience. You will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across all areas of the curriculum, with particular focus on English, mathematics, and foundation subjects. You will also be instrumental in supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills. Close collaboration with teaching assistants, the SENCO, and senior leadership will ensure that pupils with additional needs are fully supported and included. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum Monitoring, assessing, and tracking pupil progress and attainment Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL pupils Collaborating effectively with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and SENCO Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school initiatives Contributing to extracurricular activities, school trips, and events Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards The Ideal Candidate The school seeks a KS1 Teacher who: Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1 Is passionate about early years education and child development Delivers high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons Has strong classroom management and organisational skills Understands and supports SEN, EAL, and pastoral needs Demonstrates reflective and proactive teaching practice Builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and resilience in all pupils Professional Development The school provides: Mentoring and guidance from experienced staff and leaders CPD opportunities in curriculum development, pedagogy, and SEN Opportunities to lead school initiatives and projects Support in preparing pupils for assessments and interventions Collaborative teaching and learning opportunities across year groups What the School Offers Inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative school culture Supportive and approachable leadership team Well-resourced classrooms and learning environments Focus on staff wellbeing and professional development Long-term career progression opportunities The chance to make a lasting impact on young learners’ lives Safeguarding Statement The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
