Job Title: Facilities Coordinator
Location: Main Location - Braintree - Must be able to travel to Burnham, Witham and Manningtree once per week.
Remuneration: £18.33 per hour
Contract Details: Temporary - Minimum 3 months
Responsibilities:
Join our client as a Facilities Coordinator and play a vital role in ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment across 4 sites in Essex.
We're looking for a proactive, people‑focused Facilities Coordinator to help keep our hubs running safely, smoothly, and to a high standard. If you love variety and being the go‑to problem solver, this role is for you.
What you'll do:
Oversee the cleaning contract and ensure all hubs remain clean, safe, and welcoming.
Complete monthly site walk‑rounds and support daily space‑use coordination.
Update daily occupancy data and act as a Fire Marshal and First Aider.
Be the first point of contact for on‑site facilities issues across multiple hubs.
Support planned and reactive maintenance, minor repairs, and statutory compliance.
Monitor mechanical and electrical systems, carry out routine checks, and keep accurate records.
Manage heating, cooling, and weekly compliance testing.
Support sustainability and energy‑efficiency initiatives.
Assist with incident recovery, refurbishments, and improvement projects.
Handle procurement, contract renewals, and value‑for‑money purchasing.
Manage stock of consumables and create purchase orders.
Coordinate planned and reactive cleaning and manage contractor activity safely (RAMS).
Oversee access control, including issuing and tracking ID badges.
Deliver hub induction tours for colleagues.
Support health and safety through risk assessments, PEEPs, and incident reporting.
Assist with GDPR‑compliant document destruction and adverse weather procedures.
Carry out quality checks and support continuous improvement across all hubs.
Provide wider support to the Facilities and Business Support Manager as needed.If you enjoy a fast‑paced role with real impact and variety, we'd love to hear from you.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation (IOSH, COSHH).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
Essential: Access to your own vehicle for travel between sites.
