We are looking for an enthusiastic audiologist to join our multidisciplinary Audiology Department at RSFT, Guildford.
The post-holder will be required to work across sites to cover clinics at Royal Surrey County Hospital, including its outreach sites and domiciliary visits. Access to a car is highly recommended.
We are a progressive audiology service which provides multidisciplinary services including a diagnostic and rehabilitation service for children/adults, Vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation service, Tinnitus and Hyperacusis service and the provision of private hearing aids.
The Audiology department is a placement centre for BSc and MSc Audiology students and the post-holder will play a pivotal role in supervising the next generation of audiologists.
Please note this role may involve 7-day a week working to support the service. Core hours of service are 9am - 5pm. Flexible working patterns can be discussed at interview.
Main duties of the job
Staff members benefit from taking part in a wide range of educational and professional development opportunities including monthly training sessions and audiology training courses.
In addition, the postholder will be able to take part in ongoing research projects.
The post-holder will have the opportunity to help develop the service, interact with Audiology students and be part of a friendly, supportive and highly professional team.
We run a preceptorship program for newly qualified audiologists to provide extra support to graduates.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of clinical audiology services in close working with the Audiology Team Lead, Adult Clinical Service Lead and Head of Department.
This will cover the maintenance of demonstrably high professional standards in respect of:
The scientific, technical, therapeutic, rehabilitation and clinical activity of the service
Patient care
The effective and efficient use of resources and the management of workload
The provision of professional advice consistent with the responsibilities and expertise of the department
Teaching and training of junior staff
Keeping abreast with new developments and providing an evidence based service.
* Perform a range of technical activities related to the disorders of hearing for adults.
Provide Audiological cover for ENT clinics.
Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to adult patients referred to the Audiology department including fitting and fine tuning of hearing aids.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A BSc or PTP in Audiology or Audiology degree with equivalent level of experience
* A certificate of Audiology Competence
* Be a member of the British Academy of Audiology or other professional organisation
* Be a member of an appropriate professional body (AHCS - Healthcare Scientist or HCPC - Clinical Scientist)
Knowledge and Experience
* Working with people
* Experience of working both as an independent practitioner for a range of Audiological assessment and rehabilitative techniques and outcomes

* oImpression Taking
* oEarmould modifications
* oAdult Fitting & Rehabilitation
* oPaediatric Testing >3 years
* A knowledge of NHS digital models of hearing aids

* Possess a current knowledge of NHS policy, the present agenda for change, and the generic operational working of the organisation
* Have some experience in specialised areas e.g. paediatric hearing aids neuro-otology or central auditory testing
