Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and fully qualified Technical Supervisor (Electrical Services) to oversee and manage all electrical activities across the client site. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the LV and HV electrical framework, ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, Fixed Wire Testing, and electrical safety programmes.
You will act as the site's electrical subject matter expert, providing technical leadership, supporting engineering teams, and managing specialist electrical contractors. Reporting directly to the Contract Manager, you will ensure high standards of safety, statutory compliance, and operational excellence throughout the plant.
Main Duties
Technical & Operational Responsibilities
Lead and manage all LV/HV electrical systems, including planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Oversee the Fixed Wire Testing programme and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal procedures.
Serve as the site's HV Authorised Person
Perform, review, and manage electrical safety checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities.
Provide detailed technical guidance to the engineering team and support their development.
Ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained, including permit-to-work processes.
Contractor & Project Management
Manage specialist electrical contractors and ensure high-quality delivery of all works.
Coordinate maintenance outage windows and liaise closely with the client on scheduling and operational impacts.
Support and oversee small works and project activities across the plant.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety legislation, building statutory requirements, and company policies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all planned and reactive activities.
Promote a safety-first culture across all engineering and contractor teams.
General Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical faults across a range of building systems and industrial equipment (Boiler plant, HVAC, pumps, generators, switchgear, cabling, lighting, batteries).
Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotations and source parts as required.
Ensure excellent customer service and communication with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Fully qualified electrician with:
City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent).
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
Demonstrable experience working with Low Voltage and High Voltage electrical systems.
High Voltage qualification and/or status as an HV Authorised Person
Experience & Skills
Proven experience supervising or managing engineering teams or contracted service providers.
Strong background in maintenance, testing, and fault-finding across a wide range of electrical equipment.
Ability to work proactively, troubleshoot effectively, and anticipate potential faults or issues.
Understanding of statutory building requirements and safe working practices.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Computer literacy and ability to complete reports and paperwork accurately.
Other Requirements
Full clean UK driving licence.
Ability to work at heights up to 3 metres and lift up to 25kg.
Flexibility to undertake duties not exclusively electrical when required.
