Mode Executive is supporting an international apparel and fashion brand in the search for an outstanding Chief Commercial Officer. This is a critical executive leadership appointment for a business with an established international footprint and ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering the commercial strategy across multiple markets, off-price and full-price, licensing partnerships, driving revenue growth, strengthening brand performance, and ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of an increasingly competitive global fashion landscape. This is a full-time, office-based position located in London. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Commercial Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team, working closely with colleagues across product, merchandising, retail, wholesale, e-commerce, marketing, and operations to deliver sustainable commercial success across international markets. The Role
Develop and execute the global commercial strategy, aligning business objectives with revenue growth, market expansion, and brand performance targets. Lead all commercial functions across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, business development, and strategic partnerships. Drive sustainable growth across existing and emerging international markets while identifying new opportunities for expansion. Partner closely with merchandising, product, and marketing teams to ensure commercial strategies align with consumer demand, market trends, and brand positioning. Optimise channel performance across direct-to-consumer, wholesale, franchise, and digital platforms. Establish and monitor commercial performance metrics, ensuring revenue, profitability, and growth objectives are consistently achieved. Identify opportunities to increase market share, customer acquisition, customer retention, and lifetime value. Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, distributors, franchise operators, and strategic stakeholders globally. Lead commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, margin optimisation initiatives, and contract management processes. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, consumer behaviour, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making. Collaborate with the executive team to support long-term business planning, international expansion initiatives, and organisational growth. Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing commercial teams, creating a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence. Provide regular commercial reporting, forecasting, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
Requirements
Proven experience in a Chief Commercial Officer, Commercial Director, VP, Managing Director, or equivalent senior commercial leadership role within the apparel, fashion, lifestyle, or consumer goods sector. Demonstrated track record of delivering significant revenue growth and commercial success across international markets. Deep understanding of the global fashion and apparel industry, including retail, full price and off price, wholesale, licensing and franchise channels. Experience leading multi-channel commercial operations within a premium or mass-market fashion retail environment. Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to balance long-term vision and hands-on commercial execution. Exceptional understanding of consumer trends, market dynamics, and evolving retail landscapes. Proven ability to build and manage high-performing international teams across multiple functions and geographies. Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, pricing strategies, and profit optimisation initiatives. Outstanding stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities. Experience working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented business environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at Board and executive level. Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Management, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
