This role can be full in-studio or hybrid (minimum 3 days per week). A comprehensive relocation support package is provided if needed.
What’s the role?
The Lead Technical Artist will take ownership of Technical Art on current and upcoming games, requiring extensive game development experience and deep expertise in tooling and performance. They will also mentor and manage a high‑performing Technical Art team, fostering a positive, inclusive, and motivational work environment.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead the Technical Art Team for a game project.
* Liaise between the project team and core studio teams.
* Define and maintain processes and guidelines usable by developers across teams.
* Oversee the technical implementation of artwork, visuals, and assets.
* Work with other Project Leads to develop effective workflows and solutions.
* Collaborate with Production and Game Direction on roadmaps and delivery timelines.
* Make decisions and compromises based on technical constraints, seeking effective solutions for the wider team.
* Advocate direction and workflows to teams with varying constraints.
What you’ll bring
* Excellent communication skills that motivate teams and convey views effectively.
* A proven track record of delivering solutions to complex technical challenges on game projects.
* Leadership experience and the ability to manage a team of Technical Artists.
* Highly collaborative and confident communication.
* Ability to take a holistic view of issues.
* Strong Technical Art skills, including Python development, Maya, asset management, and best practices in content creation.
* Strong understanding of modern game engines.
* Strategic experience with planning, pipeline improvements, asset management, and risk assessment.
* Experience through full game production cycles.
* Collaboration with across‑disciplinary teams.
