An established and highly regarded independent planning consultancy is looking for an ambitious Graduate Town Planner to join their expanding team based in central Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of projects while receiving hands-on mentoring from a respected planning team.
About the Role:
As a Graduate Planner, you'll support a multidisciplinary team working on a wide range of planning projects across the UK. Sectors include residential, commercial, retail, mixed-use regeneration, energy, community and leisure. You will play a key role in helping to shape the built environment while building your professional capabilities within a supportive and collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
Undertaking research and analysis of planning policy
Producing planning appraisals and strategy reports
Using the Planning Portal for application submissions
Supporting the negotiation and monitoring of applications post-submission
Drafting planning appeal documents and representations to local plans
Attending meetings and client briefings as required
What We're Looking For:
A strong understanding of the UK planning system
A relevant degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI-accredited preferred)
Confident using Microsoft Office and planning-specific IT tools
Strong research, analytical and written communication skills
A motivated, proactive mindset with attention to detail
Excellent time management and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
A team player with the confidence to work independently when needed
