Communications Assistant
Contract until 31st March 2026
£16.91 per hour - 37 hours per week - 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday
As a Communications Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of effective communications across the organisation. You will provide high-quality support and advice to colleagues, helping them engage clearly and confidently with a wide range of audiences from journalists, stakeholders and internal employees.
What you'll be doing as the Communications Assistant:
* Supporting internal and external campaigns alongside the Communications Officer.
* Managing team resources including media lists, dashboards, and planning grids.
* Ensuring our communications are proactive, insight-driven, and aligned with strategic goals.
What we're looking for:
* Experience in communications, media, or public relations. (Ideally within a public sector organisation)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail.
* Confidence using digital tools like Microsoft Office, media monitoring platforms, and social media.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
* A collaborative, customer-focused approach and great interpersonal skills.
* A willingness to learn, take initiative, and seek support when needed.
