We are seeking an experienced Caseworker to join a growing Complex Crime department. This is an exciting opportunity to assist Solicitors and Advocates in preparing cases for court, with the potential for consideration for a future training contract. Police Station Accreditation is desirable, and applicants should be willing to attend Police Stations outside normal working hours on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist Advocates throughout all stages of case preparation.
2. Manage a caseload under supervision, including drafting letters, preparing statements, applications, and legal documents.
3. Accurately record time on the case management system.
4. Ensure files meet quality standards in accordance with internal procedures.
5. Provide high-quality client service.
6. Conduct legal research and instruct experts when required.
7. Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities as applicable.
Person Specification:
8. Police Station Accreditation desirable but not essential.
9. Experience in case working within criminal law, either at a solicitors’ office or barristers’ chambers.
10. Experience handling complex crime cases preferred.
11. Legal qualification (LPC, BAR, CILEX) desirable but not essential.
12. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach.
13. Excellent organisation, time management, and teamwork skills.
14. IT literate and willing to learn new systems.
