Overview
Join Cornwall’s New Era of Growth — Shape Our Investment Story
Cornwall is on the brink of significant transformation. We are shifting from traditional grant-funded economic development to a bold, investment-led, private sector driven model. To support this change, we are establishing a new function designed to attract high-value investment, build a strong pipeline of businesses, and promote Cornwall’s economic strengths with clarity and confidence.
Cornwall has world leading renewable energy assets, a thriving tech and creative sector, cutting edge space capability, natural capital and a globally recognised identity. This role will help bring these strengths together through a compelling and consistent narrative that resonates nationally and internationally and help attract high‑value investment.
The Role
You’ll step into a role where your insight and relationships help define how Cornwall is positioned to investors and businesses. Your work will support high-value opportunities and contribute to a confident, modern economic story for Cornwall. This is a rare opportunity to shape a lasting economic legacy within a dynamic, forward-looking service.
As our Brand Cornwall and Investor Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of reshaping Cornwall’s economic future. The primary objective of the role is to attract and secure significant investment into Cornwall, aligned to the Cornwall Good Growth Plan.
You Will
* Build and manage a strong, high-quality pipeline of investors, businesses, and leads
* Craft and amplify a powerful Cornwall narrative and brand that resonates nationally and internationally
* Position Cornwall as a compelling destination for investment, innovation and private-sector growth
* Bring strategic insight, market awareness and commercial confidence to identify and unlock major opportunities
* Work collaboratively across sectors to create a coherent, consistent approach to Cornwall’s strengths—from green energy to space, from creative industries to advanced manufacturing
* Help shape an agile, modern function that delivers impact without relying on traditional grant funding
This is your chance to influence big decisions, build major relationships, and help redefine how Cornwall attracts and lands investment.
Working Pattern
This is a flexible hybrid role, with travel to programme-related sites as required.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
You’re ambitious, commercially minded, and motivated by making things happen. You thrive in fastmoving, opportunity-driven environments, and you understand how investors think — and how to speak their language. You care about impact and are driven by the opportunity to attract investment that creates real benefits for Cornwall’s people, places and economy.
You Bring
* Strong experience in investment attraction, business development or commercial growth
* The ability to build trust, generate leads, and close deals
* A strategic mindset paired with excellent relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills
* An entrepreneurial approach—creative, dynamic, and opportunity-focused
If you love connecting people, shaping strategy, and driving real-world impact, this role is your perfect next step.
