Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 5 – Sherbourne House Nursery
Shoots Training is currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Sherbourne House Nursery as a Level 5 Childcare Room Leader.
Welcome to Sherborne House School’s Nursery, where children aged six months to four years receive the best possible introduction to education through a nurturing, stimulating, and playful environment, fostering independence and creativity in every child.
Our Nursery is divided into three different rooms, allowing children to thrive in small groups and receive individual attention.
Qualities Required:
* Paediatric First Aid
* Safeguarding
* Food Hygiene certifications
* Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* A warm, caring, and nurturing approach to working with children
* Ability to lead by example and support the professional development of others
* Confidence in using assessment and observation tools

Your roles and responsibilities will include:
Leading a designated room within the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safety for all children. You will support and supervise a team of practitioners, plan engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS, and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the room.

Hours:
* Sherbourne House Nursery is open from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday
* Working hours will be 40 hours per week; shift patterns will be discussed
Requirements:
* Level 3 Early Years Childcare Qualification is essential
* GCSEs A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent (e.g., functional skills)
* Ability to obtain a clear DBS check
* Experience of leadership within an Early Years setting or suitable experience
