Job Title: Technical Float - Manufacturing Operations Location: Rugby, UK Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 Days, 2 Nights - 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Are you a skilled and adaptable technician with a passion for keeping production lines running smoothly? We're looking for a Technical Float to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Rugby. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment. What You'll Be Doing As a Technical Float, you'll play a vital role in supporting both production and engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include: Operating and maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment across the plant. Supporting planned maintenance activities and ensuring continuity across shifts. Completing work orders and providing feedback via the Fiix system. Performing quality checks and ensuring products meet defined standards. Assisting with breakdowns, line conversions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance. Key Areas You'll Support You'll rotate across various departments, including: Front End (Fork Truck, Baler) Cupper, Bodymaker, Trimmer Washer, Waste Treatment Coater, Decorator Inside Spray, Necker, QC Palletiser, Warehouse, and more What We're Looking For Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English Experience in preventative maintenance and production machinery Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer literacy and good communication skills Forklift truck experience (training provided if needed) What You'll Get Competitive salary and shift allowance 14 days off every 5-shift rotation (holiday included) 6 additional rota days per year Opportunities for training and development A supportive and safety-focused work environment Ready to take the next step in your manufacturing career?
