You'll Need
What we're looking for
* A relevant subject qualification (e.g. degree or equivalent).
* A recognised teaching qualification.
* Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
* The ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
* Knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
* Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
* Confidence using digital tools to support learning.

Role Description
Newcastle College is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified professional to take on the role of Lecturer in Health and Social Care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality programmes within our further education health and social care provision, all tailored to meet the needs of sport students.
The role also includes programme administrative responsibilities to ensure effective course management. A key focus will be supporting learners in developing employability skills relevant to the industry, promoting independence, and preparing them for progression into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong vocational background in the health and social care sector, paired with a passion for developing learners' technical and employability skills. This role will primarily focus on delivering and enhancing our Health and Social Care pathways, empowering students to succeed in this vital and rewarding field.
You will hold an honours degree (Level 6) or a recognised industry qualification in Health and / or Social Care or a closely related discipline, alongside a post-16 teaching qualification or a commitment to attaining one within an agreed timeframe. Level 2 qualifications in English and maths are essential, or you must be prepared to achieve them.
We're looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering and assessing vocational training programmes, with a strong emphasis on learner progression and success. If you're passionate about shaping the future workforce of the health and social care sector, we'd love to hear from you!
Candidates should also have proven success in designing and implementing teaching strategies that support further education students, including those with additional needs or barriers to learning. Strong organisational skills, the ability to self-manage workload, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in IT, including the use of virtual learning environments. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet curriculum demands may also be required from time-to-time.
