Learning Support Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough, UK
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £463- £550, based on experience
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting students to reach their potential? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our pool of educators. This is an exciting opportunity to help students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and make a positive impact on their academic journey.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

* Assist students with SEN on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them engage fully in lessons and activities.
* Work alongside teaching staff to support students during lessons, helping them access the curriculum and stay engaged.
* Work with students with various learning needs, ensuring they receive the support they require to succeed, both academically and socially.
* Assist in managing student behaviour in line with the school’s policies, encouraging a positive and productive learning environment.
* Foster students' independence by helping them develop skills that will benefit them inside and outside the classroom.
* Monitor the progress of students and share feedback with teaching staff to inform teaching strategies and provide tailored support.
* Work closely with the SENCO and other colleagues to develop and implement personalized learning plans and strategies for students.

What We Are Looking For:

* A genuine passion for working with young people, especially those with special educational needs.
* Previous experience working with students (preferably in a school or educational setting) is beneficial but not essential.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Empathy, patience, and resilience, particularly when working with students who may face challenges in their learning.
* Ability to be flexible and adapt to varying student needs and classroom environments.
* A proactive, team-oriented approach to work.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are essential. A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) would be an advantage but not required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
