Job Description
Our client, a facilities management company, is looking for a Domestic Gas Engineer to cover long-term gas servicing and repair work in domestic properties across the Highlands and Moray, with a company van provided.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Carrying out annual and interim maintenance visits in compliance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.
2. Installation or replacement of gas appliances and heat emitters.
3. Installation of gas pipework, including testing for tightness and strength as required.
4. Replacement of heating controls and components as per manufacturers' instructions.
5. Performing combustion performance analysis on gas appliances.
6. Fault investigation and diagnosis using manufacturers' technical literature.
7. Attending to reported gas escapes and suspected fumes, adhering to Gas Safety Regulations.
8. Ensuring compliance with Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedures, including warning labels and notices.
9. Completing all legal documentation using the handheld PDA system.
10. Pipework alterations and repairs.
11. Performing system pressure tests where required.
12. Replacing parts to complete repairs and installing new radiators, valves, and pipework as needed.
13. Attending daily reactive repairs from the client.
14. Maintaining high health and safety standards at all times.
15. Participating in the on-call rota.
Additional duties may occasionally be assigned to meet business needs without additional qualifications or experience.
Requirements:
* Domestic ACS qualifications - CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, DAH1, CPA1
* OFTEC and BPEC registration (if required)
* Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations
* Full, clean driving license
* Knowledge of unvented hot water systems
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Self-motivated and a team player
* High standards of working practice and leadership
* Flexible and IT literate
