Consultant Psychiatrist – Addictions

We’re looking for a Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist to join Change Grow Live (CGL) and play a pivotal role in our Lancashire service. Location: Lancashire, we have 9 service hubs across Lancashire and the site location can be at your preferred choice.
Full Time Salary: £138,714.28 to £149,713.64
Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week
Contract Type: Permanent
*please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the Role:
As the Consultant Psychiatrist, you’ll act as the Clinical Lead for the Lancashire service, providing expert leadership and guidance across the team. You’ll play a key role in developing treatment pathways, overseeing clinical practice, and ensuring that high professional standards are maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
4. Providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment for individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.
5. Leading on the development and implementation of clinical strategies, in partnership with local services, including GPs, mental health teams, and community organisations.
6. Offering specialist advice on complex cases and supporting staff with clinical supervision and guidance.
7. Ensuring safe and effective prescribing practices in line with national guidelines.
8. Engaging in clinical governance activities, including audits, service evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Representing CGL at local and regional meetings to support service development.
About You
We are looking for a qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who is passionate about making a difference in addiction services and thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Essential:
10. Full GMC registration and on the Specialist Register with a Substance Misuse Psychiatry endorsement.
11. Demonstrable experience working with individuals affected by substance use and co-occurring mental health needs.
12. Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and develop clinical teams.
13. Excellent communication and partnership working skills.
14. A commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance.
Desirable:
15. Experience in teaching, supervision, or clinical research.
16. Section 12 approval or equivalent.
