About the Setting

The school environment promotes a warm, inclusive ethos where pupils, families and staff feel respected, valued and safe. The culture is built on collaboration, positive relationships, and celebrating every individual’s achievements.

Learning is highly personalised, using a blend of sensory‑based, play‑based, life‑skills and adapted curriculum pathways to ensure each pupil can access meaningful, challenging experiences. A strong focus is placed on developing communication, independence, confidence and real‑life skills, preparing pupils for adulthood in a structured, supportive setting.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils engage with learning in a nurturing and encouraging environment. You will support pupils using approaches tailored to their needs—whether sensory integration, visual supports, total communication, routine‑based learning, or structured regulation strategies.

Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with teachers, therapists and families to provide consistent, holistic support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support adapted to individual communication, sensory and learning needs.
* Modify and differentiate learning activities to ensure accessibility and engagement.
* Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans to support progress.

* Support pupils’ independence, resilience and confidence, including during life‑skills and practical learning activities.
* Assist during classroom learning, outdoor sessions, community visits and transitions.
* Contribute to a calm, respectful and inclusive atmosphere that nurtures development.
-----------------------------------

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

* Passionate about supporting pupils with diverse SEND needs
* Calm, patient and positive under pressure
* A confident communicator with pupils, staff and families
* Flexible, proactive and a supportive team player
* Reflective, resilient and committed to inclusive practice
-----------------------------------
