Job Title: Finance Graduate
Site Location: Tamworth
Reports to: Finance Manager
Hours of work: Monday – Thursday: 08:30 - 1700 & Friday: 8:30am - 4pm
Job Purpose:
The role of the Finance Graduate is to provide effective support to the finance team, gaining a wide range of experience through exposure to the different finance functions.
This role will see the chosen candidate take on responsibilities within Credit Control, the Stock Management Process, Weekly Reports for the Senior Management team, and the Management Accounts, as well as gaining experience in Purchase Ledger, T&A System Functions and Purchasing as part of a rotation start to the programme, and further as cover work for others where required. The chosen candidate will also provide important administrative and wider business project support, with the opportunity to lead projects as the role develops.
This provides a fantastic opportunity for the chosen candidate to become an integral part to a relatively small finance team and gain exposure to lots of different financial elements quickly. The role will also include study support for the CIMA professional qualification through a Level 7 Apprenticeship as well as a Leadership Development course to be carried out with their fellow graduate cohort.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Play a key part in the Credit Control function, helping the business bring cash into the business
2. Take charge of the business stock take process, organising the weekly and monthly stock takes, ensuring accuracy and improving process
3. Supporting the Health and Safety Officer and Buyer with the PPE Vending Machine usage, monitoring stock levels and employee usage
4. Have responsibility for key weekly reports to Senior Managers within Stormking and the wider division
5. Support with the month end process via the completion of reports such as the Aged Debtors report
6. Project work primarily based around financial and system controls following the recent implementation of a new ERP system – initially helping with these projects before eventually taking charge of projects with support from the Finance Manager where required
7. Gain an understanding of the Purchase Ledger function through a rotation programme and offer support and cover where needed
8. Gain an understanding of the T&A system through a rotation programme and offer support and cover where needed
9. Gain an understanding of the Buyers responsibilities through a rotation programme and offer support and cover where needed
10. Assisting with Year End Accounts and external audit through the provision of formatted data requested by the auditors
11. Other ad hoc responsibilities as required
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish team goals and objectives
13. Computer literate, including a high proficiency in Excel
14. Familiarity with key accounting concepts
15. Excellent verbal and written skills
16. High attention to detail
17. Desire to learn and improve not only themselves but also current process

18. Relevant degree at a 2:1 or above

21. Work experience, particularly in an office environment, would be advantageous
