Exam Invigilator – Queen Mary’s High School Location: Queen Mary’s High School, Upper Forster Street, Walsall, West Midlands, WS4 2AE Start Date: Required from November 2025 Contract: Casual / Permanent Salary: £13.05 per hour (excluding holiday pay) / £14.63 per hour (including holiday pay) Closing Date: Sunday 2nd November 2025 Interview Date: Friday 7th November 2025 About the Role Queen Mary’s High School is seeking dedicated, reliable, and dynamic Exam Invigilators to join our supportive Examinations Department. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of both internal and public examinations, upholding the highest standards in accordance with awarding body regulations. Key Responsibilities Invigilate public and internal examinations as per Examination Body regulations. Supervise candidates before and after assessments. Invigilate the School’s entrance examination when required. Undertake administrative tasks set by the Exams Officer, such as taking registers and assisting with packing scripts. Promote the ethos and aims of Queen Mary’s High School and The Mercian Trust. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, or Exams Officer. Person Specification Accuracy and attention to detail. Reliability and punctuality. Ability to use initiative and keep calm under pressure. Flexible approach to work. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in an invigilation role within a school is desirable but not essential (full training provided).
