Student Experience & Wellbeing Officer

Department: Student Services

Salary: £26,667 per annum (£18,462 pro-rata)

Contract Type: Term Time - 36 weeks

Hours: 37 hours per week

Reference: REC2451 | Closing Date: Sunday 28th June 2026

The Opportunity

As our Student Experience & Wellbeing Officer, you will play a key role in creating a positive and supportive environment for our students across the college. Working as part of the Health and Wellbeing team, you will help deliver a range of engaging wellbeing services and interventions, ensuring our students have access to the right support when they need it.

From providing duty cover in the Health and Wellbeing Centre to running group sessions, workshops, and one-to-one support, you will be at the heart of promoting student wellbeing. Your work will cover key areas such as healthy relationships, substance misuse, smoking cessation, and sexual health, helping students make informed choices about their wellbeing.

You will have the opportunity to deliver impactful health-based workshops, collaborate with curriculum departments, and contribute to student inductions. Gathering student feedback will also be an important part of your role, allowing you to shape and improve our wellbeing services to meet our learners’ needs. You’ll also play a key part in managing counselling referrals, coordinating health-related resources, and assisting with essential administrative tasks for the Student Experience Team Leader.

Building strong relationships will be an essential part of your day-to-day work, whether you’re engaging with our students, working alongside colleagues, or partnering with external organisations. You’ll represent the Health and Wellbeing team at meetings, contribute to college-wide wellbeing events, and help keep our resources up to date with the latest trends. By promoting the Health and Wellbeing Centre across all college sites, you’ll also encourage our students to get involved, take advantage of support services, and feel part of a welcoming and inclusive community.

This opportunity offers you the chance to make a real impact on student wellbeing in a supportive and dynamic environment. You’ll engage directly with students, deliver meaningful interventions, and contribute to a positive college culture.

About You

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive individual who is ready to make a meaningful impact on our students’ wellbeing and overall college experience. You’ll be a natural communicator, able to engage with young people, build trust, and create a welcoming and supportive environment. Adaptability is key, as you’ll be working with students from diverse backgrounds, each with different needs and challenges. Strong organisational skills will help you manage a varied workload, balancing one-to-one support, group workshops, wellbeing events, and the coordination of health-related resources.

Confidence in delivering engaging and informative sessions is essential, covering key topics such as mental health, healthy relationships, substance misuse, and general wellbeing. Your ability to present information in an accessible and relatable way will encourage students to take an active role in their own health and personal development. While experience in health, wellbeing, or support services would be beneficial, what’s most important is your enthusiasm, empathy, and commitment to empowering our students.

You’ll collaborate closely with our internal teams, including Student Services and curriculum staff, as well as external organisations, to develop partnerships and bring in additional resources and expertise. Your role will also involve gathering student feedback to ensure wellbeing services continue to evolve and meet their needs. If you’re creative, people-focused, and eager to develop initiatives that genuinely enhance our students’ lives, this role offers an incredible opportunity to make a lasting difference.
