Description About the Role We’re seeking a hands-on and experienced Senior Operations Supervisor to join our East Devonport team. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day depot operations — ensuring safety, compliance, and service excellence across all freight movements. As part of the regional leadership team, you’ll plan and coordinate resources, support and develop your team, and ensure key performance targets are met. You’ll play a vital role in delivering reliable, customer-focused outcomes while maintaining a strong culture of safety and accountability. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Lead, support, and motivate the operations team to achieve daily performance targets and uphold high work standards. Coordinate labour, equipment, and resources to meet customer and operational requirements. Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all HSE, Chain of Responsibility, and other regulatory requirements. Manage day-to-day site performance, including budgets, labour costs, and productivity metrics. Oversee and support team rostering, workflow planning, and operational readiness. Coach and develop team members through training, feedback, and career development discussions. Foster positive working relationships with customers, yard teams, and other key stakeholders. Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiency and service quality. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and regional leadership projects. Skills And Experiences What We’re Looking For Proven leadership experience in freight, transport, logistics, or similar operational environments. A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and high-performance standards. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Sound computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools. Understanding of industry standards such as Chain of Responsibility, Fatigue Management, HACCP, and Load Restraint. A proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to make confident operational decisions. High personal standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
