Our client is a Hi-Value Shipper with an exciting opportunity for a Junior Import Operative to join their growing team based in Sunbury TW16. Purpose of the role:
The Junior Import Operative will support the import team by handling documentation, customs clearance, and client coordination, while learning all aspects of import operations to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of goods.
This trainee position is designed for someone eager to learn and develop within the company.
Main Responsibilities:
The Junior Import Operative will be trained across a range of import-related tasks, including but not limited to:
1. Applying for import cites permits.
2. Monitoring pre-alerts from foreign agents & raising import files.
3. Creating records in the ERTS system for clearance.
4. Handling files from start to finish.
5. Ensuring all relevant and legal documentation is in place for customs clearance.
6. Completing customs entries according to client instructions.
7. Ensuring the client file is completed with release information before delivery is organized.
8. Supporting management to meet client needs.
9. Representing the company with high levels of customer service and professionalism.
10. Undertaking additional duties or assisting other staff as reasonably requested.
Essential Skills:
* Ability to prioritize and organize workload to tight deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Team player, able to work within the Imports team and across departments.
Knowledge:
* Data management and accurate record keeping.
* Intermediate IT skills, including MS Word & Excel.
* Collaborative team approach with staff from all departments.

* Proactive in anticipating needs and seeking improvements.
* Adherence to company policies and procedures.
Desirable:
* Full clean UK driving license.
* Knowledge of the local area & London.

* Salary: £24,258 per annum for a 37.5-hour week.
