About the Role
As the Year 4 Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum. You will support pupils as they develop greater independence as learners, deepen their understanding across subjects, and strengthen their learning behaviours.
You will be expected to deliver engaging lessons in English and mathematics while providing a broad and balanced curriculum that includes science, humanities, and the arts. The role involves careful assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, alongside the implementation of targeted interventions where needed.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, Lower KS2 colleagues, and senior leaders to ensure consistency in teaching and high expectations for all pupils. This role would suit an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher or a confident Early Career Teacher seeking to develop within a supportive environment.

Your responsibilities as a Year 4 Teacher will include:
• Planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging lessons across the Year 4 curriculum
• Teaching reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and mathematics effectively
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Using assessment to track progress and inform future planning
• Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
• Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and resilience
• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
• Communicating effectively with parents and carers
• Contributing to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
• Upholding safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a Year 4 Teacher who demonstrates:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
