The Role We're looking for a hands-on, tech-savvy individual to join our refurbishment team. This might be your dream job if you enjoy tinkering with hardware, solving IT puzzles, and making old laptops feel new again. What Youll Be Doing: Hardware Refurbishment: Carry out memory and storage upgrades, replace drives, and get your hands inside the machines. Operating System Installs: Reinstall Windows 10 and 11, format drives, navigate BIOS settings, and install drivers like a pro. Quality Assurance & Dispatch Prep: Test, test, and test again. Youll be the last line of defence before laptops go out to customers. General Troubleshooting: Diagnose common issues why wont it boot? Whys the screen flickering? Wheres the Wi-Fi gone? Youll help us figure it out What Were Looking For: Essential Knowledge & Skills: Experience reinstalling operating systems (Windows 10/11), formatting disks, adjusting BIOS settings, and installing drivers. Comfortable stripping down laptops, fitting memory, hard drives, and getting hands-on with components such as screen and keyboard replacement. Confident in troubleshooting typical IT problems like failed boots, faulty accessories, or misbehaving hardware. Ability to work on your feet all day in a fast paced youthful environment. Desirable (but not essential): Prior experience working at a computer repair company or in a similar role. Confident using email and live chat to communicate with customers. Happy to answer the phone and help out if a customers in need. About You: Youre probably someone who loves gaming, hardware, or fixing up machines for fun. Maybe youve repaired your mates laptops, built your own PC, or just love to tinker. Were not fussy about qualifications - you dont need a degree or shiny GCSEs. What you do need is curiosity, a good work ethic, and the ability to explain things clearly (especially to non-techie customers).
