Job Description:
Microchip's Discrete Products Group (DPG) offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power and RF/microwave discrete semiconductor product portfolios. The DPG includes two business units: the Power Discrete & Modules BU and the RF/Microwave Discrete BU. Markets served include: alternative energy, industrial, medical, defense, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors, and security. Microchip DPG has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Technician-Equipment. The ideal candidate will repair and maintain electro-mechanical equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing, along with other duties as directed.
* Ability to repair electro-mechanical equipment or assemblies.
* Perform preventive maintenance and general upkeep on production equipment.
* Work from schematics, mechanical drawings, or written instructions.
* Experience with multimeters, soldering irons, and mechanical tools.
* Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
* Competent in using MS Office.
* Ability to interface with parts or service vendors.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* Minimum 5-7 years of experience in repair and maintenance of production manufacturing equipment.
* Trade school or post-high school certification in electronics.
* Experience with calibration, vacuum systems, and electronics.
* Strong mechanical skills.
* Machine shop experience.
