Job Description:
Bechtel is seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant for its in-house Legal department in London. The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will support attorneys in Litigation Claims and Labor Employment Groups. This position is part-time telework, with at least three days of in-person attendance per week, scheduled in consultation with the supervisor.
Major Responsibilities:
* Support for litigation, claims, and labor/employment matters, including managing subpoenas, discovery, data requests, and legal document review.
* Organize and file legal documents, assist in drafting retainer agreements, conduct record searches, and manage legal holds.
* Manage litigation costs, review invoices, and ensure compliance with retention policies.
* Communicate with external counsel, vendors, and internal teams regarding legal matters.
* Maintain and report on data in internal databases and tracking tools.
* Handle service of process documents and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and relevant experience.
Required Skills:
* Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and legal review tools such as Viewpoint and Relativity.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
* Experience with litigation, claims, or labor/employment legal matters.
* Experience with legal budgeting, cost tracking, and related software.
