The role calls for a results-driven leader who can balance operational excellence with commercial performance, team development, and customer satisfaction. You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining compliance, and driving efficiency while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of depot operations, including financial performance, team leadership, and strategic planning. Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations that meet business objectives and service standards. Lead, motivate, and develop the site team, promoting a positive and performance-focused culture. Set clear performance goals, conduct reviews, and support ongoing team development. Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices. Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring service and operational KPIs are consistently achieved. Manage site budgets, ensuring effective cost control, resource allocation, and financial reporting. Drive operational efficiencies through digital tools, effective asset utilisation, and process optimisation. Understand local market dynamics, monitor competitors, and identify opportunities for business growth. Serve as the Nominated Transport Manager, with overall responsibility for fleet compliance and performance. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders. Communicate business goals and strategies effectively to internal teams and external contacts. Requirements IOSH Managing Safely (essential). Level 3 Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent experience. Transport CPC qualification. Strong financial and budget management experience. Proven experience in fleet and transport management. Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire teams. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
