Laser Cutting Setter / Operator, West Bromwich, up to £18 per hour My client is an established manufacturing company supporting customers in a wide range of industries. Responsible for ensuring that the Laser Cutting Machine runs effectively and efficiently in line with the build plan and to maximize machine utilization and OEE and to be responsible for progressing all new product development in a timely fashion. Job Accountabilities: - *Responsible for the day to day running of the Laser Cutting Machine making sure production output matches the requirements on the build plan. *It is desirable that the Setter has knowledge of setting and operating Press Brake machines, although this is not essential. *You will be responsible for job changeovers / tool changes and the swift assistance to any breakdowns. *It is the responsibility of the Laser Cutting Setter to ensure correct procedures are always followed with regards to first offs of each part run, making sure first offs are taken into and signed off by the Quality Dept. and the accurate recording of hourly checks/downtime/changeovers etc. *The Setter must ensure the Laser is set and running before leaving each day with clear instruction left for the operator on the following shift. *Must be fully competent with regards any further development work, being able to produce samples of new parts, as and when required. *To liaise with warehouse FLT drivers to ensure that finished parts are taken down to stores, when available. *Booking all work manufactured onto the MRP system in real-time, as well as ensuring works orders are added to each bin of work produced. *The Setter is responsible for always keeping CNC Laser area clean and tidy, making sure all parts are kept in the correct place on a daily basis. *It will be expected that the CNC Laser Setter keeps a check on all stocks of tooling and raises any new tool requirements as early as possible to maintain tool inventory. *To ensure that the Team Leader is kept informed of all problems in the department. *To supervise and assist any other operators working in the area, helping with any issues raised passing on expertise, as and when required. *To provide support to Team Leader in providing any training and guidance to new operatives within the department, to maximize efficiency of production. *Jobholder must be reliable and a good timekeeper, as the role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the department. To carry out any tasks within the scope and abilities of the function other than those listed above. The Team Leader may provide these either verbally or in writing, such as Expectations or improvement requests. This may also include working on other items of kit or processes where required and suitably trained and able to do so. Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm Weekly Paid.
