3-month contract with a local authority Summary We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Herefordshire Council as a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on a 3-month contract. This role is crucial in ensuring the safeguarding of children by managing allegations and providing expert advice across the safeguarding partnership. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of child protection and implementing effective safeguarding procedures. Responsibilities Chair all meetings related to managing allegations against individuals who may pose a risk to children. Challenge decisions made by employers that do not ensure the safeguarding of children. Provide advice on interpreting and implementing safeguarding procedures and policies across the partnership. Deliver multi-agency training to promote best practices across all sectors. Prepare quarterly performance reports to highlight new issues, challenge thinking, and identify learning opportunities. Maintain the client information system for adults who may pose a risk to children or have caused harm. Comply with and promote the Council's Health, Wellbeing, and Safety at Work and Confidentiality policies. Essential Experience Required Proven experience in providing executive-level administrative support in a fast-paced or high-profile environment. Strong diary management and scheduling skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders. Essential Qualification Required Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent. Relevant experience within children's services. Social Work England Registration. HCPC Registration. Additional Information Working hours: 37 hours per week. The role requires a DBS check.
