Im currently working with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Hemel Hempstead that is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team.
With a strong reputation across the residential sector, the business delivers a broad range of projects including bespoke residential properties, large-scale housing developments, apartment schemes, and mixed-use developments for a loyal and expanding client base. The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, youll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with developers, architects, contractors, and private clients to deliver practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the design and delivery of residential and mixed-use projects
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Producing and reviewing structural calculations, reports, and technical drawings
* Attending client and design team meetings
* Coordinating with architects, contractors, and external consultants
* Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians
* Assisting with project planning and resource management
Project Portfolio
Youll gain exposure to a variety of schemes including:
* Residential developments
* Housing and apartment schemes
* High-end private residential projects
* Extensions and refurbishments
* Mixed-use developments
* Occasional commercial and education projects
Requirements
* 5+ years experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy
* Strong technical design experience across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
* Experience delivering residential-led projects
* Ability to manage projects and liaise directly with clients
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Chartered status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous
