Senior Underwriter, Terrorism & Political Violence
We are looking to employ a Terrorism & Political Violence Senior Underwriter to be based in our London office and to work with us on a full-time basis.
Role Purpose
To influence, implement, and achieve underwriting profit goals in Terrorism and PV risks in accordance with the business plan.
To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of capacity whilst working within Chubb’s underwriting guidelines and controls. Be consistent in approach towards risk selection, pricing, and use of capacity whilst recognizing and responding to market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan.
* Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability.
* Ensure quality control within responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews.
* Work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the UK&I to maximize cross-sell opportunities.
* Prioritize and develop products within your area of expertise to improve client retention and attract new business, collaborating with peers across Europe and globally.
* Represent and promote Chubb to brokers, clients, and partners domestically and overseas, including servicing key producers and clients, and monitoring business acquisition and retention.
* Meet company standards regarding policy documentation, timeframes for quoting, and compliance rules.
* Work within Chubb's ethical and service standards.
* Possess comprehensive understanding and experience of underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence.
* Have a good working knowledge of Multinational Underwriting, the insurance market, and competitors.
* Experience dealing with brokers and clients.
* Be results-driven with the ability to work independently and make decisions.
* Be adaptable and resilient to market and business changes.
* Recognized externally as an experienced professional.
* Pay excellent attention to detail, with experience using complex pricing and risk tools.
* Experience in training, mentoring, and staff development is desirable.
* Continuously develop technical and broader business skills.
* Be a strong team player capable of building relationships quickly.
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* ACII qualification is preferred.
