Solihull's Family Time service is a new, bespoke team working with children and families across the borough. This is an exciting time to join as we continue to invest in the service, creating a team which will work within the communities.
As part of the Family Time team, you will work within a dedicated team of experienced professionals across the family time centre and in the community. The posts require a flexible approach to working your 37 hours, as the contact centre operates from 9.30am - 8.00pm.
As a Family Time Worker, you will provide a Family Time service under the management of the Team Leader and Coordinator, including supervision and assessment of Family Time for children and young people looked after by the Local Authority. You will supervise Family Time in line with the child's plan, record observations on the child's electronic file, and ensure Family Time is delivered in accordance with the child's care plan, prioritizing their safety and welfare.
You will need to transport children, young people, and occasionally adults to and from family time, ensuring all parties are informed of arrangements and plans.
We seek an experienced, passionate, and motivated individual to join our new Family Time Service. Due to the role's nature, flexible working hours are required, including some evenings until 8pm and some Saturdays within the 37 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements
1. A relevant Level 2 qualification in Children and Young People OR relevant experience in a similar role.
2. Experience working one-on-one with children, young people, or families in social care, educational, or voluntary settings.
3. An understanding of vulnerabilities and complex needs of children and young people, including those with mental health needs, emotional, social, behavioral difficulties, or disabilities.
4. Experience with Case Management Systems and Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
This post requires an enhanced DBS check. It is an essential car user post, requiring applicants to drive, hold a valid driving license, and have access to a car. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled applicants.
This position is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
