Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a permanent post of 22.2 hours per week with Monday to Friday.
This post is pro-rata for part time hours.
Responsibilities
* Work in Outpatients and Pre-Operative Assessment for 22.2 hours per week, over 3–4 days, covering both Outpatients and Pre-Operative Assessment.
* Chaperone patients during examinations and take and record measurements including blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, temperature and urinalysis.
* Phlebotomy is part of the role and training will be provided.
* Ensure the department and rooms are clean and set up for the relevant clinics, which include ophthalmology, general surgery, general medicine, orthopaedics, renal, diabetic, respiratory, rheumatology, cardiology, ENT, oncology, urology, neurology and gastroenterology.
* Answer telephone calls, take messages and co-ordinate the running of clinics in both Outpatients and Pre-Operative Assessment.
Qualifications and requirements
* Permanent position with part-time hours (22.2 per week) and the expectation to work over 3–4 days.
* Phlebotomy is part of the role with training provided.
* Ability to support multiple clinics across Outpatients and Pre-Op Assessment.
