Assistant Occupational Therapist – Goodmayes Hospital
22.5 hours per week on a permanent basis.
The Role
Play a vital role in supporting the delivery of therapeutic interventions that help individuals develop, recover, or maintain essential daily living and functional skills. Work closely with a qualified Occupational Therapist and multidisciplinary team, contributing to person‑centred care and promoting independence.
* Assist with assessments under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.
* Implement treatment plans and monitor progress in line with individual care goals.
* Facilitate individual and group therapeutic activities to support rehabilitation and quality of life improvements.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent literacy and numeracy qualifications, with relevant vocational training.
* Experience supporting Occupational Therapists with clinical interventions in mental healthcare settings.
* Strong organisational, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Competence in delivering individual and group activities independently, alongside flexibility and effective time management.
* Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Knowledge of NHS priorities, safeguarding, confidentiality, clinical governance, occupational therapy principles, and professional conduct.
* Empathy and understanding for the diverse needs of service users.
