We have a new opportunity for a Production Radiochemist to join our Radiopharmacy team.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week. Our site's operational hours are 24/6, from 00:00 to 20:00, so shift work is required.

You should be a scientific graduate with a scientific background, ideally with experience in (radio) pharmaceutical manufacturing within a GMP environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, a logical approach to problem solving, and good attention to detail. As an effective team member, you will have great organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
* Education to a degree level in a related scientific discipline or relevant experience.
* Ideally, experience in Radiochemistry or related disciplines.
* Knowledge of GMP, validation, and relevant regulations.
* Validation experience (including laboratory equipment and process validation) would be advantageous.
* Previous experience operating in a GMP grade C cleanroom, operating a GMP grade A isolator, and/or distributing radiopharmaceuticals would be advantageous.

Responsibilities include:

1. Production: Daily routine production of PET radiopharmaceuticals, including 18F-FDG, adhering strictly to GMP and EU pharmacopoeia standards.
2. Operation of protocols: Routine handling of customer orders and distribution of PET tracers.
3. Maintenance: Arrange first-line scheduled and emergency maintenance for production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure equipment performance.
4. Faults: Record and interpret faults, liaise with engineers and suppliers for resolution.
5. Quality Systems: Operate within approved quality standards, record deviations and change controls timely and accurately.
6. Principal Operator/Timetable: Act as production radiochemist on a rota, including some night shifts.
7. Chemical Preparation: Monitor and maintain stocks of chemicals and disposables, ensure waste disposal compliance.
8. Standard Operating Procedures: Prepare and review SOPs for approval and implementation.
9. Training Others: Provide training and support to team members involved in radiopharmaceutical production.
10. Safety and Control: Handle radioactive substances safely, maintain safety procedures, and record incidents as per SOPs.
11. Regulatory: Comply with GMP, GLP, and safety protocols from MHRA, EA, and HSE, following licensing requirements.
