An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Administrator to work in our CAMHS Children in Care Team. You will carry out and supervise the day‑to‑day administration tasks for referrals to the team. The post is for 22.5 hours (3 days a week, 9 am – 5 pm, 0.6 WTE). You will be based at Wokingham Hospital and ideally one day a week at Erlegh House, University of Reading. You must have excellent communication and organisational skills; the ability to multi‑task and prioritise; be familiar with the Trust computer systems and have very good IT skills, including efficient use of Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word.
Role and Responsibilities
* Support trauma‑informed care and create stability of the child or young person’s home placement.
* Help CYP maintain relationships with family members and work to be re‑united where possible.
* Foster a strong attachment with the CYP’s foster carers or adults responsible for their care (if in a residential setting).
* Drive CYP towards high educational achievements.
* Create local social networks and form positive, meaningful relationships with peers and other adults.
* Deal with telephone enquiries from patients, carers, staff and other professionals in a careful and sensitive way and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
* Use the e‑Roster system to input annual leave requests and sickness absence.
* Liaise with Estates/IT and other services to resolve daily issues.
* Support the Business Support Manager by ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
* Help with the recruitment and induction of new administrative staff and support new starters/clinical trainees.
* Prepare documentation and collate data and agendas for the Team Business Meetings; take minutes, distribute them and follow up on actions.
* Input confidential correspondence, produce requested reports and other documentation to a high standard within agreed timescales using the relevant software packages.
* Act on your own initiative to ensure the effective running of the service, prioritising your workload with guidance from the Team Lead and Business Support Manager.
* Maintain all office systems, electronic and hard copy, to a high standard and develop systems to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Serve as the central point of contact and maintain relationships across the service, assisting the team in developing and maintaining efficient office procedures.
Key Skills and Experience
* European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Teams.
* Excellent digital typing skills.
* Strong communication, organisational and multi‑tasking skills.
* Familiarity with Trust computer systems and high IT competence.
