Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Interface Engineer – External to manage and coordinate all external interfaces between the project, third‑party stakeholders, contractors, and relevant authorities. The role ensures that project requirements, schedules, and contractual obligations are fully integrated, and that external dependencies are monitored and resolved to prevent delays or conflicts.
The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for external interface matters, facilitating communication, resolving interface issues, and ensuring alignment between project teams and external stakeholders. The role involves monitoring interface performance, identifying potential risks or bottlenecks, and proposing proactive solutions to safeguard project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead external interface activities, coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and external authorities
* Conduct regular coordination meetings to ensure alignment with project procedures, manuals, and contract obligations
* Ensure external tie‑ins and installations comply with approved work method statements, IFC drawings, and contractual requirements
* Maintain and update the External Tie‑ins Register, tracking progress and completion of all external works
* Monitor contractor scope, mechanical completion, interface milestones, and overall project schedule
* Collaborate with discipline engineers to define external interface points and ensure technical validation throughout design and execution
* Coordinate with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals, permits, and documentation
* Monitor critical path activities, track risks, and implement mitigation strategies in coordination with project controls
* Ensure all external interface activities meet quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
* Prepare reports, maintain documentation of approvals, tie‑in completions, spare parts, and stakeholder communications
* Develop and maintain an External Interface Register to track dependencies, risks, and project progress
* Document lessons learned and follow up on risks in accordance with project procedures
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
* Professional certification preferred
* Minimum 10 years’ relevant work experience, including 3-5 years in major projects
* Strong knowledge of interface management, cross‑disciplinary coordination, and project integration
Skills and Competencies
* Excellent organisational and coordination skills
* Strong problem‑solving, risk management, and decision‑making capabilities
* Effective communication skills for collaboration with multiple stakeholders
* Familiarity with quality, HSE, and project management systems
