Overview
Following a number of successful frameworks bids across the water industry, and in preparation for the biggest AMP ever, we are expanding our amazing engineering teams across the country. As a Senior Principal Civil Engineer, you will work across the entire project lifecycle in asset planning, strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design. You will take on responsibility for the leadership and mentoring of engineers in the team, and work alongside our overall project design leads to ensure successful project delivery. You will also have access to Stantec's world-class expertise to help you deliver leading-edge design, whilst supporting and mentoring our more junior engineers.
Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor engineers across the full project lifecycle (asset planning, strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design).
* Collaborate with project design leads to ensure successful project delivery.
* Support and mentor junior engineers, leveraging Stantec's expertise.
* Contribute to projects in the UK water industry with a focus on community-focused outcomes and innovative solutions.
* Engage with clients and stakeholders to deliver outline and detailed design as part of AMP8 activities (e.g., Leeds/Yorkshire Water projects).
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering and ideally Chartered status with a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM.
* Extensive design experience in the UK water industry.
* Experience delivering community-focused projects and working collaboratively with project teams to deliver innovative solutions.
* Willingness to grow through training and project exposure; prior experience in storm overflows, SUDS, surface water management and sewage treatment is beneficial.

In Leeds, we are excited to be selected on Yorkshire Water's Storm Overflow Alliance to deliver AMP8 capital investment programme. The role involves delivering outline and detailed design for projects to reduce spills from Combined Sewer Overflows and supporting Yorkshire Water as their Strategic Planning Partner. You will be part of a UK-wide team focused on sustainability, the environment, and the communities we serve.
