A specialist in advanced machine vision and factory automation is looking to add an Applications Engineer to its team near Oxford. The company develops high-precision vision systems used by major manufacturers across sectors including medical, automotive and precision engineering, and this role sits right at the centre of designing, delivering and supporting those systems.
Youll be involved in the full lifecycle of vision projects learning and developing with their software and hardware platforms, designing applications, documenting requirements, managing project delivery and getting hands-on with integration, commissioning and testing. Theres a mix of office-based development work and time on customer sites, supporting installations, training sessions and acceptance testing.
The role suits someone with a degree in engineering and at least a couple of years in an engineering environment who enjoys problem-solving, technical variety and working directly with customers. Experience with automation, machine vision, optics or image processing is ideal, but the main thing is an organised approach, strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
