We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Delivery of the Design and Build team.
Permanent | Full Time | 37 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Agile Working
The successful candidate can be based from any Flagship office closest to their home address, including Norwich, Woodbridge, Dereham or Bury St Edmunds.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide effective Quantity Surveying support, taking responsibility for commercial control and reporting across housing development projects during the construction phase.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Delivery of the Design and Build team in the commercial administration of construction contracts
* Reading, understanding and administering building contracts, working alongside Employer’s Agents and legal teams
* Supporting the assessment of variations, extensions of time and contractual claims, including assisting with claim framework preparation
* Collating cost data, figures and financial information, and producing accurate commercial reports yourself
* Preparing and maintaining cost reports, forecasts and cashflows to reflect actual performance and future expenditure
* Ensuring financial control, contractual compliance and value for money
* Working collaboratively with developers, contractors, Employer’s Agents and internal stakeholders to protect the organisation’s commercial interests
This is a hands-on QS role, requiring confidence with figures, reporting and day-to-day commercial management.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a commercial or Project QS environment (this role is not suitable for trainees or graduates)
* A strong understanding of construction and build contracts, including experience supporting contract administration
* Experience within housing development or construction-related projects
* Confidence in collating financial information and producing clear, accurate reports
* Strong commercial acumen with a detail-focused approach to cost control
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in a construction-related discipline (desirable)
* A full, valid UK driving licence
