Job Description Are you a hands-on Health & Safety professional looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer to join a well-established and growing business operating within the food production and manufacturing sector. This is a varied operational role supporting Health & Safety across production facilities and customer-facing sites, helping to drive compliance, continuous improvement and a positive safety culture throughout the organisation. This role would suit someone who enjoys being visible on-site, working closely with operational teams and influencing best practice across a busy manufacturing environment. The Role Working closely with management and site teams, you’ll take ownership of a wide range of Health & Safety activities, helping ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting site inspections, audits and workplace assessments across operational locations Completing and reviewing risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing control measures Developing and maintaining Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and operational safety procedures Supporting compliance across COSHH, manual handling, PPE, emergency procedures, workplace welfare and general manufacturing safety standards Leading and supporting accident, incident and near miss investigations, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement Delivering Health & Safety training, coaching and awareness initiatives to colleagues and management teams Supporting Health & Safety reporting, policy development, audits and statutory compliance activities Helping build and maintain a strong, practical and proactive safety culture About You We’re looking for a confident, organised and proactive H&S professional who can build strong working relationships and positively influence operational teams.
