Join to apply for the Senior Content Designer role at Pleo
At Pleo, we’re on a mission to revolutionise the way businesses manage company spending. No more outdated processes, clunky spreadsheets, or frustrating delays – we believe spend management should be seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike. We’re creating tools that promote autonomy, foster trust, and let businesses focus on what truly matters.
About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Content Designer to shape how people understand and experience Pleo. In this role, you’ll drive content design for a major area of our product – influencing strategy, defining voice and structure, and delivering outcomes through clear, human‑centered communication. Great experience is at the heart of that mission. Not just what people see, but how information guides them, reduces friction, and builds trust.
What you will be doing
* Shape strategy: Partner with product and design leadership to define how content supports business and user goals at scale
* Lead projects: Drive the end‑to‑end content strategy and execution for major product areas (e.g. onboarding, reimbursements, payments, Cash Management)
* Advance systems: Build and maintain scalable content design systems, frameworks, and pattern libraries that ensure clarity and consistency across products
* Influence & advocate: Champion the role of content design across the organisation, ensuring it’s embedded early in product thinking and decision‑making
* Research & evidence: Partner with Research and Data to test, measure, and validate content solutions; use evidence to influence stakeholders and improve experiences
* Cross‑functional content work: Collaborate closely with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Localization, and Localization to align content with broader Pleo strategy
* Tackle ambiguity: Work on 0→1 projects and ambiguous spaces, creating clarity and direction where little exists
What you bring
* Experience: ~5+ years in content design / UX writing, with a proven track record of high‑impact product initiatives
* Portfolio: Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end ownership of product flows, systems, and frameworks – not just copy fixes
* Strategic mindset: Ability to connect content decisions to business outcomes, product metrics, and long‑term customer value
* Systems thinking: Expertise in building scalable systems – content libraries, naming conventions, voice/tone frameworks, design systems integration
* Leadership & influence: Skilled at driving alignment across teams and functions; able to influence senior stakeholders with clear rationale and evidence
* User‑centered design: Comfortable with research, usability testing, data analysis, and applying insights to content strategy
* Craft & clarity: Mastery of concise, clear, human‑centered language; skilled at adapting tone for different contexts and audiences
* Accessibility & inclusivity: Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles
Bonus Points
* Experience with design systems or content design systems
* Familiarity with performance metrics related to content (e.g. comprehension, error rates, conversion, engagement)
* Experience with localization or multi‑language content
* Interest in AI tools for content generation or augmentation
Who you’ll be working with and reporting to
You’ll report to the Head of Content Design and work closely with leaders and individual contributors across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Brand.
How you’ll develop in this role
* Play a strategic role in shaping our most important product experiences through language and structure
* Influence how we scale content design, evolve our systems, and raise the bar for clarity and quality
